Thursday (August 18, 2011) we left about 5:00 AM to go to Texas to pick-up 25 goats (13 kids + 12 does) from a dairy. Here are some pictures from the trip. This was actually the second trip down there (we made a trip about 2 weeks ago), but last time I forgot the camera.
It was a tiring, but fun 5 hour drive (one-way) . . . .
Two blowouts on the way there . . . not good. It put us a few hours behind scedule. |
This is ugly . . . compared to where we live with lots of pine trees. |
With the current dry conditions, there have been several fires locally (by us) in Oklahoma and in Texas. |
It's already looking like this (trees loosing leaves), and it is only August! |
Finally, pine trees! There is one place on the route we went that has lots of pine trees, but besides that there's none in sight - only flatland, and sometimes rolling hills with brush and oak trees. |

Hay . . . one desperately needed thing in Oklahoma and Texas |
Finally there! |
We loaded up the goats, and headed back home in our truck with no working air-conditioner . . . thankfully there was a cloud cover. |
The herd of cattle that are always there. |

Close to home! There was a fire recently (pictured above). |

Praise the Lord for keeping us safe, and blessing us with more animals!
