2010 Fall tree pictures

Here are some pictures of the trees turning different colors this year. They are pretty much all stripped of leaves now.

Donkeys!

. . . It's another weird thing we've brought to our ranch. They are 2 females. One is a miniature donkey, and the other regular size.

Bird 13: Cattle Egret

I snapped these pictures before it saw/heard me, and flew away (as pics show). From what I could tell, it looks like a Cattle Egret.

These pics aren't that great, but anyway . . .

Bird 12: Summer Tanager

A pretty bird. Males are bright red and females are a yellowish color. For pictures of a female, google "female summer tanager".

Bird 11: Brown-headed Cowbird

I'm sorry, I took these pictures I think in the later spring of this year. It seems like it was just spring, and it's already fall. Can you believe that? Time just flies by.

The Brown-headed Cowbird, Summer Tanager (see next post), and the Cattle Egret I think I saw and took pictures of around the same time. For info on the Brown-headed Cowbird, go here - http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Brown-headed_Cowbird/id.

Wonder why they are called "Cowbirds"?
